For the webadventure project, I’m planning to create some sort of narrative that involves dark subject matter or gets really strange/creepy. I’ve come up with a few ideas such as a Satan Dating Simulator, where you go on a date with Satan and the date is just strange overall with the kinds of questions and answers that come up. I also expanded on this to include other characters, like Death or God that you could choose to go on a date with. But the idea that I think I’m more likely to commit to is called “What’s in my Closet?” For this webadventure, the user is presented with a messy closet and they can click on the different objects in the closet and each object reveals a piece of the story. The main story is that this is a murderer’s closet, and as the user explores the closet, they find evidence of the murder that was committed such as clothes with blood, gloves, etc. The user can choose what to do with certain objects, like throw them away to get rid of the evidence, but some of the objects are also random things that reveal some of the murderer’s personality. I’m still not sure what the overall objective of the user would be other than exploring the weirdness of the closet. Potentially certain objects will go into a rabbit hole and lead to a side quest that will further the story, such as finding a piece of evidence like a severed body part, and then trying to dispose of it and having an encounter that could get the murderer caught. Overall, I think the main objective is exploratory, but there are certain objects that could make you lose/get caught as the murderer.
